Objective : Double the income of targeted households through structured interventions in the sectors of Water, Agriculture, Livestock & NTFP

Geography & Impact Group : 7500 HHs in Kashipur block of Rayagada district.

Objectives :

• Double the income of 15000 targeted households in a sustainable manner
• Enhance agriculture productivity and cropping intensity in two targeted blocks
• Implement Agriculture Production Cluster (APC) model in Kashipur backward blocks, as an effective method to organize production system and services of markets
• Augment water resources and improve irrigation infrastructure in the targeted region to ensure availability of water for round the year for irrigation
• Enhance livestock productivity through introduction of best rearing practices
• Introduction of low input cost non-pesticide-based agriculture practices, with appropriate package of practices focusing on crops which are better suited to the agro-ecology of the region such as millets and vegetables
• Establish profitable value chain system for NTFP and MFP

Project Description: 

The integrated livelihoods development project would focus on three sectors – agriculture, water and Livestock. The major focus of the project would be to trigger growth in farm sector with the objective of sustainably double the income of  7500 small and marginal farmers in the backward blocks of Kashipur in Rayagada districts of Odisha. The goal of the project is to improve the livelihoods and well-being of 7500 household’s mostly poor, marginal farmers and tribal.

Outcomes :

• Agriculture Production Cluster– Developing Production Cluster, Sustainable Agriculture, Horticulture Development- 4500-5000 HHs
• Water & Land Resource Augmentation – land treatment, water harvesting, storage structures, lift Irrigation- 2400 Hectares
• Livestock Development – PoP Backyard Poultry and Goat Rearing- 1500 to 2000 HHs
• NTFP – Value Chain Development through aggregation and collective Marketing - 500 to 750 HHs
• Community  Institution Building – Formation and Strengthening of Producer Groups and Producer Company - 25 Producer Groups &  one Producer Company
• Market Facilitation and Agri-Entrerpreneurship – Progressive Farmers will be groomed as Agri-entrepreneurs
